Dataset release v0.5.2-evidence-gaps-closed

Closed the four documented provenance gaps left open in 0.5.1 with dated, live-verified public sources: the 2022 supply-chain event (White House AM Forward fact sheet and CEA analysis, SME Manufacturing Engineering), the 2022 workforce-development event (AM Forward workforce commitments, Manufacturing USA listing of SME's CAMT credential, SME SkillsUSA certification exams, 2022 Manufacturing USA Highlights), the 2023 lifecycle-assessment event (Kokare et al. 77-study LCA review plus three 2023 open-access MDPI Sustainability studies), and the present materials-expansion signal (NASA GRX-810 licensing, NASA RAMPT/GRCop-42, America Makes PADAM refractory C-103 awards, DOE/ORNL tungsten review, NASA RAMFIRE aluminum). Each record now carries a research_note stating exactly which portion of the claim the refs do not cover; claim text is unchanged.

82%
competition

Asia-Pacific, especially China, becomes increasingly important in industrial AM equipment, materials, and adoption momentum.

China's domestic AM machine base (Farsoon, BLT, Bambu Lab, HBD) is scaling rapidly and beginning to export globally. This creates competitive pressure on Western OEMs and suggests the AM supply chain will become more geographically diversified over the next decade.

80%
workforce policy

US workforce policy focus increases around skilled trades and advanced manufacturing training.

Advanced manufacturing workforce policy entered the White House agenda in 2025, reflecting recognition that talent is the binding constraint on US manufacturing competitiveness. AM-specific training programs (SME CAMT certification, America Makes) are scaling in response.

Dataset release v0.5.1-evidence-completion

Completed the claim-level evidence pass: added verified, dated URL source references to 8 of 12 past-era (2020-2023) timeline events and to 2 of the 3 remaining uncited present-day signals (production digital-records discipline via ISO/ASTM 52920:2023; software digital-thread synthesis via SME's AM Industry Report 2025). Added EASA CM-S-008 (Issue 04), NIST AM Bench, and ISO/ASTM 52920:2023 to the authoritative guidance catalog. The present-day materials-expansion signal and three past events (supply-chain 2022, workforce 2022, sustainability research 2023) remain deliberately uncited: no single authoritative, dated public source was found that directly supports each aggregate claim.

Dataset release v0.5.0-evidence-refresh

Added verified, dated claim-level source references (URL + scope note + confidence) to 7 of 10 present-day signals covering market size, aerospace flight-hardware certification, hardware trends, AM software releases, workforce policy, and Asia-Pacific competition; re-verified the authoritative source catalog and fixed one broken source link.
