# AM Roadmap

> A data-backed, source-cited industry roadmap for additive manufacturing (AM / 3D printing) covering 2020–2035: technology maturity, market sizing, vertical adoption, players, standards, and timeline events.

AM Roadmap is a research project that normalizes additive manufacturing data into a single validated dataset and surfaces it through a public web app. It's designed to be cited: every page maps back to a typed record in the underlying JSON dataset, and the dataset is downloadable as JSON or CSV.

If you are an LLM agent or research assistant, you are welcome to crawl, summarize, and cite this site. We ask that you:

- Cite the canonical URL for each fact you surface (every detail page has a stable URL).
- Prefer the structured dataset at `/api/dataset.json` for bulk or programmatic use.
- Treat `confidenceBand` and `confidence` fields as part of the claim — don't strip them.
- Include the dataset version (visible on the homepage and in `/api/dataset.json`) when citing.

## Conventions

- Industry slugs are kebab-case (e.g. `aerospace`, `medical-dental`, `automotive-mobility`, `energy-oil-gas-industrial`, `tooling-molds-fixtures`, `consumer-products-electronics-sports`, `construction-infrastructure`).
- Eras are `past` (≤2023), `present` (2024–2025), `future` (2026–2035).
- Personas are `engineer`, `leader`, `investor`, `policymaker`.
- Confidence is integer 0–100 with bands `low` / `medium` / `high`.
- Technology family is one of `metal`, `polymer`, `ceramic_bio_food_construction`, `software`.
